Santa Cruz, CA – Looker, an innovative software company with a unique approach to business analytics, was named a finalist today in the 12th annual Stevie® Awards for the New Product or Service of the Year - Software - Business or Competitive Intelligence Solution category. Looker was recognized for the Looker Business Analytics Platform, a platform designed for today's modern data-driven companies and that bridges the chasm between the curious businessperson and today's rich data environments.

Looker helps businesses create a discovery-driven culture that empowers data analysts, data scientists, and business users to make faster, better decisions in real-time. Looker has reinvented business intelligence with a modern web-based platform, which enables business users to explore high-resolution data and gain actionable insights. Looker is now used by over 100 customers, ranging from ecommerce to financial services businesses. Since launching in March 2013, Looker has secured $16 million in Series A funding and announced partnerships with leaders in the data analytics space, such as Amazon Web Services and Snowplow Analytics. Looker was also recently selected as a finalist for Red Herring's Top 100 North America Award, recognized for the company's rapid growth.

The American Business Awards are the nation's premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations -- public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small.

"Looker is honored to be named as a finalist in the New Product or Service of the Year - Software - Business or Competitive Intelligence Solution category in this year's Stevie Awards," said Looker CEO Frank Bien. "We're seeing a new generation of business people -- born of the web -- who expect instantaneous, self-serve access to all the detail in today's new-era databases. Our Looker Business Analytics Platform enables customers to discover those detailed insights and empowers them to make smarter, data-driven decisions."

Finalists were chosen by more than 150 business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in April and May. More than 150 members of several specialized judging committees will determine Stevie Award placements from among the Finalists during final judging, to take place May 13-22.

"The final judges have a difficult task ahead of them, to rank the Finalists, because there are so many great nominations this year," said Stevie Awards president and founder Michael Gallagher.
