Members of the data community are invited to submit a session for consideration for JOIN 2019 in San Francisco, CA on November 5-7. Please read the submittal guidelines, below, and provide your submission via the simple online form by June 15, 2019.

Speakers for selected sessions will be notified on or before July 15 and will receive complimentary conference registration.

This Call for Sessions for JOIN 2019 is open to the entire data community, including Looker customers, the academic community, and other data specialists.

The review team will accept submissions based on the following criteria:

  1. Does the content fit well within one of JOIN’s content tracks?
  2. Is the story compelling? Is the session new, novel, or informative?
  3. Does the material reflect real-world experiences or practical learnings?
  4. Will the session successfully avoid sales and promotional content?
  5. Will attendees leave the session with new knowledge or skills that will help them solve future analytics problems?
  6. Does the speaker have experience presenting in similar venues?
  7. Unfortunately, incomplete submissions and those received after June 15 cannot be accepted

Please note: JOIN 2019 does not pay speaker fees. Do not submit sessions where the speaker requires or requests a fee. By submitting you are confirming you will have final content by October 1, 2019. Content that misses this deadline may not be accepted.

Learn from your peers and industry experts on how to nurture the adoption of data tools, build amazing dashboards and compelling explores, and produce strategic business impact through data.

Embedding and Monetizing Analytics

Learn from experts on how to leverage data assets in new ways, build analytics into your products, and monetize data -- using embedding and Powered by Looker (PBL). You’ll learn how to build embedded reporting experiences that allow your customers to drill deeper, explore scheduled alerts, and ask more of their data. This track will also discuss best practices for productizing analytics, meeting customer demand for data, and using data to build competitive advantage.

Developing on Looker

Go beyond standard business intelligence and learn how innovative organizations develop amazing applications and customized data experiences. This track will cover why and how successful teams use the Looker API, SDKs, and other powerful aspects of the data platform. Meet the developer community and discuss topics such as data science, augmented analytics, open source tools, and developer workflows. Emphasis will be on best practices and real-world application of emerging technologies and techniques.
