Looker offers the ability to import a dashboard into Spaces as of release 3.10. In order to allow users to continue editing the dashboard after import into a Space, the dashboard will change from a LookML Dashboard to a User Defined Dashboard. A User Defined Dashboard is edited through the user interface instead of through LookML. See Building Dashboards for more information.
To import dashboards into a new Space, select Spaces on the left-hand navigation. Then, click on the LookML Dashboards section.
Select the dashboard you would like to import, and then click on the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner.
Select the Space you would like to import the dashboard into, then select Import and View.
When you get to the newly imported dashboard, you will see the following message:
If you would like to be able to edit this dashboard (highly recommended), then you will need to change the Dashboard Layout. To do so, select the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner, and choose Edit Dashboard.
Under Layout, change the selection from tile to drag (before 3.32) or newspaper (3.32+) and then click Save.
Tiles on the dashboard can then be rearranged by clicking and dragging each tile to its desired location. The tile size will automatically adjust to ensure that all tiles on the same line fit properly onto the page. Learn more about how to edit a User Defined Dashboard here.
