Visit the Looker team at AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas, December 2-8th at booth #1405 and ask us about our integrations with AWS.
As an AWS Advanced Technology Partner, we are excited to talk about our continued integration with AWS — something many of our customers have come to value and rely upon.
To kick off what will be another exciting re:Invent conference in Las Vegas this week, we put together a “top 7” list of facts to highlight all the ways Looker and AWS are better together.
Over 50% of all Looker customers are using Looker with Amazon Redshift, Athena, or another AWS database. Using an AWS database has a number of benefits, but one of the cooler things you can access is geospatial data via Athena (check out our blog to learn how that works).
More than 90% of Looker hosted customers are hosted in AWS. And for Looker customers who choose to host their own instances, many of them use AWS as well. If you’re running a database in AWS, it makes sense to host your instance close to your data to reduce latency and simplify infrastructure configurations. Looker is happy to support your system in AWS!
With Looker, you can take advantage of AWS AI/ML innovation through integrations with Amazon Sagemaker and Amazon Forecast. Looker is integrated with Amazon SageMaker to help streamline data science workflows by allowing model training and inference to be initiated directly from within the Looker Scheduler.
To help operationalize AI/ML, Looker is announcing support for Amazon Forecast to give customers the ability to organize data prior to ingestion and then roundtrip the data for visualization by business users.
Armed with a series of powerful, pre-built models co-authored by Looker and AWS, organizations can get the most out of their AWS usage with Looker. These models make it easier to monitor AWS log data, identify opportunities to improve Redshift performance, and isolate levers to help optimize AWS spending. Take a look at the full list of these analytics blocks in our Looker Blocks directory.
Looker can deliver data directly to S3. With the Looker Action Hub integrations, Looker can spin Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances up/down based on a timed or data-triggered schedule. Plus, did you know we also have an action to deliver data directly to an S3 bucket? All you need is the name of your S3 bucket, your keys, and a few other simple pieces of information to deliver your data into S3 once, or on a regular schedule. Check out our simple guide to find out how it all works.
As a part of the Amazon marketplace partner program, you can use your dedicated AWS spend to purchase Looker in conjunction with your AWS database or other technologies. You can also get a free trial so you can test out Looker and Redshift together.
Looker has achieved three important AWS competencies to date, and we continue to innovate with AWS. We’ve worked with AWS to drive customer success and achieve Competencies in the following areas: data and analytics, mobile, and digital customer experience. The AWS Competency Program validates and verifies AWS Partner Network (APN) Partners who have demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success in specialized areas. Looker is proud to be able to supply world-class solutions in these and other areas.
And there you have it — a great look at seven of the many ways Looker works with AWS to help our customers achieve data success.
